About Us
Hello. Welcome to the website of the Stone Canyon church of Christ. Let us tell you a little about us.
First, we are simply Christians working together to carry out the will of Jesus Christ here in Owasso, Oklahoma. Please know we are just Christians – not some hyphenated or brand of Christian – just simply Christians. As a local church we are independent and autonomous and offer our allegiance to Christ alone (Acts 4:12).
Secondly, we strive to teach the Bible – not just parts of it – but all of it – without addition or subtraction – and without affiliation to any manmade creeds. It is our conviction that we must have Biblical authority for all we do and teach in service to God (Colossians 3:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). Our focus as a congregation is to provide the edification, instruction, teaching, and support to lead fellow-believers to maturity in Christ and the transformation of the gospel (Colossians 1:28-29; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18).
We currently have four men serving as shepherds of this congregation:
Andy Parsons
Shawn Pribble
Frank Plato
Steve Earnest

What To Expect When You Visit
Our goal is to worship God in spirit and truth, according to the teaching of the New Testament. We hope you will worship along with us with an open mind and a humble spirit. You will be welcomed among us as we praise Jesus as Lord and King. Our worship will be offered in zeal, sincerity, simplicity, and truth (John 4:22-24). Our deep longing is to exalt Jesus as our Savior (Philippians 2:9-11). Our product is simply the gospel message of Jesus Christ. Don’t expect to find us to be a social club or a place of entertainment, recreation, or political agendas.
On Sundays we sing, pray, take the Lord’s Supper, contribute funds to provide for the work of the Lord (we never solicit visitors), and listen to the preaching of God’s Word. These are the same actions the New Testament churches engaged in on the Lord’s Day. Our hope is to glorify God in the way he has revealed in His Word and in a manner that will draw us all nearer to Him.
We assemble for the express purpose of worshipping and glorifying God, as well as edifying and building one another up in the body of Christ (Eph. 4:12-16).
If you are interested in growing closer to the Lord and striving to orient your life toward the purpose of Christ we believe that you will be very interested in joining us in service to God.
